Rain and snow will forecast in Himachal Pradesh until December 4 as a result of the western disturbance that is currently active over the region.
Surender Paul, director of the Shimla Meteorological Centre, said on Tuesday that a yellow weather warning has been issued for snowfall in the middle hills and storms and lightning in the state’s middle hills on December 3.
On December 4, another western disturbance is due to reach the region.
Snowfall is expected to impair vital services such as power and communication, as well as jam roads in Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, and the higher parts of Shimla district, according to the weather agency. Agriculture, on the other hand, will be affected.
Tourists and local residents are urged to not travel to higher altitudes during this period even by district administrations of Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti.
