A source close to Simon told Daily Star Online that the project will be going ahead.

Cowell is believed to have handpicked a selection of judges but American’s will also have the chance to vote for who they believe is the biggest star.
Howard, who directed hit flicks including Splash, Willow and The Da Vinci Code, will team up with Cowell’s production company, Syco.
Final details are unclear but the source said: “Simon as a judge of some kind is a huge selling point.”

The news comes after it was revealed America’s Got Talent: The Champions will not be returning to NBC in January.
Sources at NBC said: “they are not aware of any plans to bring the show back” due to Simon’s back injury and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
