Today people of Siliguri are very crazy about cricket and follow it regularly. As you know right now World Cup is going on and India is performing very well. For this reason, Siliguri Municipal Corporation has decided to set up a giant screen in Siliguri to beam live coverage of the semi-final and final matches of the ICC World Cup. Actually, the semi-final will be held on Wednesday and the final on November 19. India has qualified for the semi-finals and will play against New Zealand today. The Mayor of the SMC Gautam Deb said that they will livestream the semi-final match between India and New Zealand on Wednesday and also the final match of the ongoing ICC World Cup on Sunday at Baghajatin Park on a giant screen. Last year during the FIFA World Cup they did the same thing at the same venue and claimed that over 10,000 people had visited the park to watch the final football match. Actually, there is also a demand for a separate cricket stadium in Siliguri as cricket is so famous here and many people are traveling to different places like Kolkata to watch this cricket World Cup.
