Siliguri, July 25: In a proactive move to tackle dengue, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb launched an awareness campaign in Ward No. 33 on Thursday morning.
Reportedly, during his visit, the Mayor inspected various areas of the ward and identified several water-logged plots of land and buildings under construction. In response, measures were immediately taken to remove standing water and use mosquito repellent spray.
Mayor Deb warned that legal action would be taken against property owners who allowed such conditions to continue. Despite concerns, he clarified that Ward No. 33 is not currently affected by dengue, and no new larvae have been found.
