Siliguri, March 13: As per the tradition of Shantiniketan, a colourful celebration of ‘Basant Utsav’ (Spring Festival) was held at Siliguri College on Thursday. The college campus was decorated with colourful ‘abir’, creating a festive atmosphere.
From Thursday morning itself, present and former students, including professors and teachers, gathered at the college. Students from other colleges also participated in this grand celebration.
Student leader Chand Banerjee said that like every year, this time too a large number of people gathered in this festival. Apart from the exchange of ‘abir’, sweets, music and cultural programmes were also arranged, which further increased the festive atmosphere.
