Sikkim CM inaugurates a rental guest house for Sikkim patients in Champasari

The “Ama ko Goad” Su-swasthya Niwas, a rental health-logistic facility, was formally opened in Champasari, Siliguri, marking a significant breakthrough in healthcare support. This three-story structure is intended to help Sikkim patients receiving treatment in nearby hospitals by providing them with a cozy and well-appointed place to stay. Prem Singh Tamang, the chief minister of Sikkim, emphasized that the Gareeb Jankalyan Prakoshtha (GJKP) runs it and reiterated the government’s dedication to giving its inhabitants all the assistance they need when receiving medical care outside of their homes.

“This scheme is expected to ease the burden of the patients and their families by providing a safe and comforting environment,” said the chief minister. The Chief Minister praised Chief Patron Prabhakar Golay for having conceived the initiative and acknowledged the efforts of the medical team and GJKP staff during the inaugural event. He emphasized how important their work was in making the facility a reality.

Plans for the facility’s future growth and development were also discussed, demonstrating the government’s ongoing interest in enhancing Sikkim residents’ access to healthcare. Prabhakar Golay, GJKP management, employees, officers, dignitaries, patients, and family members attended the event, signaling a significant increase in healthcare assistance for the district and ensuring that locals would have easier access to essential healthcare services.
