Prashant Kishor, a political strategist turned activist, called Rahul Gandhi’s two-year sentence in a defamation case “excessive” on Saturday and urged the government to have “a big heart” over the Congressman’s disqualification. Kishor further emphasised that the Congress did not appear to be well equipped to reach out to the masses with the message that it has been wronged. Kishor is currently travelling Bihar, his native state, as part of the “Jan Suraaj” campaign. I am not a lawyer, but with all due respect for the judicial system, I believe Rahul Gandhi received an unreasonable sentence. People say all kinds of things during election seasons.
