Seema Sajdeh and Sohail Khan were married for 24 years before they decided to separate. The couple has two sons – Nirvaan and Yohan.
Seema Sajdeh, who was recently seen on the third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, revealed in a new interview that kids are “collateral damage” when a couple gets divorced. Seema was previously married to actor Sohail Khan and the couple has two kids, Nirvaan and Yohan. Seema called her younger son Yohan her “soulmate” and then spoke about the impact of divorce on children.
“When two people break up, the collateral damage is always the kids. They didn’t ask for it. Also, people make them feel like victims, like they’re in a tragedy. The truth is you want your child to grow up and experience and know what love is,” she shared with Zoom. Seema added that being in a “tragic marriage” is not ideal for children, and believes that parents should be in a good mood to give children a healthy environment.
“I also believe that you can’t make your children happy if you’re not happy. If I’m in a bad mood, if I’m irritable all the time, I’ll take my irritability out on my child. So if I’m in a peaceful environment, I can make them happy,” she added.
Seema Sajdeh and Sohail Khan split in 2022 after 24 years of marriage.
“Nobody gets married to end a marriage. You want to live happily ever after, but people grow up. They become different people,” she said, and added, “You had a beautiful life together, you had two beautiful kids. I always tell Nirvana that you boys were born out of love. A lot of things happen in life, but we’re here, this is what we got, but we’re still a family. There’s still a lot of love here.”
