Sanskrit education and European scholarship were bridged by Krishnakant Handique: Indian theorist Sergei Cheribriyani
Krishnakant Handique, a scholar, was a bridge between the country’s traditional Sanskrit education and modern European scholarship. During his travels in Berlin and Paris during the twentieth century, he came in contact with Russian language and literature. In this case, the scholars may have benefited from the proximity of Mohammad Rakatullah, Birendra Chattopadhyay and Hasan Shahid Suhrawardy – these three persons. On Monday, July 20, the 6th Krishnakant Handique Memorial Lecture organized by Krishnakant Sandikai State Open University will be delivered by Professor Cheribriani.
