A man has been arrested from Pune for allegedly issuing death threats to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut. Mumbai Police told news agency ANI that the accused has been identified as Rahul Talekar and has no connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Raut received threats by text messages and a call, claiming that he would be shot with an AK-47 rifle if he was seen in New Delhi. A Shiv Sena (UBT) leader has lodged a complaint in this regard.
“I have informed the police about the threat call, but no action seems to be taken. Received the call last night. Whenever I inform the government and the home minister about such threats they ridicule me saying it is a stunt. The government is busy sponsoring riots, hooliganism and terrorism,” Raut told reporters.
Confirming the development, a police officer said, “Sanjay Raut Sidhu has received death threats saying he will meet Moose Walla’s fate. He received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message says, if seen in Delhi, will kill with AK-47. He wrote a letter complaining to the police about the matter.
