Over a hundred youth from Guwahati showcased their innovative ideas at Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ event, held at IIT Guwahati and the Royal Global University. The event, aimed at fostering innovation and addressing societal challenges, witnessed a surge of enthusiasm from young minds eager to tackle pressing environmental issues. Participants, ranging from 14 to 22 years old, presented a plethora of solutions to combat environmental degradation, including waste segregation, air pollution, water contamination, and climate unpredictability. They voiced the need for platforms like Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ to guide and support their endeavors in transforming ideas into actionable solutions that positively impact communities.
The event featured Dr. Jatin Wahane, a Karamveer Chakra recipient and renowned rocket scientist, who shared insights and inspired students to think innovatively in addressing real-world challenges.Samsung’s partnership with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology’s (MeitY) Startup Hub, Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi, and the United Nations in India underscores the commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators.This year, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ introduces two tracks – School Track and Youth Track, each focusing on distinct themes: “community and inclusion” for ages 14-17, and “environment and sustainability” for ages 18-22. The initiative offers hands-on training, mentoring, and grants to develop prototypes, with winning teams receiving substantial grants for further incubation and development.
