Siliguri, June 26: After nearly a month of investigation, the NJP police have recovered the stolen motorcycle of Railway Protection Force (RPF) employee Bijoy Roy and arrested one of the accused, identified as Sairul Islam, a resident of Fulbari.
The theft took place on May 14 when Bijoy Roy parked his bike outside his quarters in Central Colony after finishing his duty. While he was sleeping, the bike was allegedly stolen. An immediate written complaint was lodged at the NJP police station.
Acting on the complaint, undercover officers launched a detailed investigation. On Tuesday, the police arrested Sairul Islam from NJP Main Road along with the stolen motorcycle.
The accused has been involved in several anti-social activities, police sources said. He was produced in Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the bike’s owner Bijoy Roy expressed happiness over the recovery of his bike.
