Royal Enfield has unveiled its much-anticipated Classic 650, an upgraded and more powerful version of its iconic Classic series. Launched at a starting price of ₹3,37,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai), the Classic 650 retains its old-world charm while integrating modern design and performance upgrades. Bookings, test rides, and sales have commenced across India.
The Classic 650 is built on Royal Enfield’s globally acclaimed 650cc twin motor platform, ensuring a refined riding experience with strong low-end acceleration. It features a sporty stance, wider tyres, and premium Showa suspension for enhanced stability. Retaining the brand’s signature elements, the new model showcases a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, LED headlamp with tiger lamps, and dual seating with a detachable pillion seat option. Royal Enfield’s CEO, B Govindarajan, described the launch as a tribute to the company’s legacy. “The Classic 650 is more than just a motorcycle – it embodies craftsmanship, power, and the spirit of pure motorcycling,” he said.
The Classic 650 is available in four striking colour variants – Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome, with prices going up to ₹3,50,000. With Royal Enfield’s stronghold in the northern and eastern markets, including Siliguri, the Classic 650 is expected to attract both enthusiasts and touring riders. Siliguri, known as a major trade and transit hub, has a thriving motorcycle market, where Royal Enfield enjoys a dedicated customer base. The model’s powerful engine and touring-friendly features make it well-suited for riders exploring the Himalayan foothills and beyond. Additionally, attractive finance and exchange offers through the REOWN program aim to encourage Classic 350 owners to upgrade to the new Classic 650. With an extensive dealership network across 230+ cities, Royal Enfield is set to strengthen its dominance in India’s premium mid-size motorcycle segment.
