Rishabh Pant breaks former captain Kapil Dev’s record

Indian Wicketkeeper and a batter Rishabh Pant on Sunday registered the fastest fifty by an Indian batter in the longer format to score the fastest 50 by an Indian in Test cricket. It has come off 28 deliveries.

Pant reached upto 50 runs in 28 balls and broke the record of former India captain Kapil Dev, who made his record of naking a half-century in 30 balls.

The wicketkeeper-batter achieved this achievement  on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Sunday March 13.

Jasprit Bumrah’s five-wicket pull and a fair beginning by hitters have set in a solid position stretching out their first-innings lead to 204 runs going into Tea on Day-2 of the subsequent Test being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
