The number of coronavirus cases in India have continued to rise at an alarming rate. According to the data available at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the highly contagious infection has affected over 6.73 lakh people and claimed more than 19,000 lives in India so far. Amid the continuous surge, the government has said that the recovery rate in India has reached 60.77 per cent as 4.09 lakh people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
The government has also said that several people-centric measures taken as part of the “test, trace, treat” strategy have removed the impediments for COVID-19 testing, adding that facilitation of widespread testing by states or Union Territories has spurred the number of samples tested every day.
