Recently an unsettling incident surfaced from Paschim Dhantala area of Teesta Canal Road adjacent to Murder More of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat where a youth was publicly assaulted, resulting in severe injuries. In fact the accused involved in the act has been absconding after the incident. Actually the injured youth, identified as Sushant Das, is a resident of Purba Dhantala area of Fulbari. According to reports, two youths were actually travelling through Pashchim Dhantala of Fulbari on a bicycle. During this, they were engaged in heated argument over an issue which soon escalated. Before the locals could understand the issue, the accused fled from the scene after assaulting Sushant and pushing him to the ground.
Upon witnessing the incident, the locals immediately informed the cops of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station. Promptly, the police actually arrived at the spot, rescued the injured youth and took him to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment. Currently, the police are actually engaged in a detailed investigation of the incident.
