Rahul Gandhi was prohibited from running for office in the Lok Sabha because the BJP is concerned about his rising popularity, according to Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Anurag Thakur, Minister of Union Information and Broadcasting, came under fire from him for his remarks against Gandhi and the Congress party, saying that only time would reveal who was right and who was wrong. Sukhu told reporters after landing in Nadaun, his birthplace, that the BJP is afraid of the Congress and the rising popularity of Gandhi, which is why he was removed from the Lok Sabha within 24 hours of the court’s judgement.
