Congress leader Rahul Gandhi left the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office after over 11 hours of questioning on the 2nd day of his appearance in the National Herald money-laundering case.
The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday summoned the Congress chief for questioning for the third consecutive day, trade news agency PTI reported.
Rahul Gandhi was interrogated using the employer at the ED headquarters on APJ Abdul Kalam Road in central Delhi these days and the session is expected to end soon.
Gandhi (51) arrived at the ED headquarters around 11:05 am, accompanied by his sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and his statement was recorded under the crooked sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials said.
After a session of about four hours, Rahul Gandhi left for home around 3:30 pm for about an hour. He then rejoined the interrogation around 4:30 pm.
The Congress chief spent more than 10 hours at the ED office on Monday, where he was questioned and his statement recorded.
Meanwhile, several thousand Congress leaders and members, including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, General Secretary Randeep Surjewala and MPs Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and KC Venugopal, were detained by the Delhi Police on Tuesday for illegal assembly and violation of police orders.
They were reserving a ‘satyagraha’ march to support senior leader Rahul Gandhi as he once approached the Enforcement Directorate office for questioning.
