Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, expressed his sadness over the loss of life and said he was extremely troubled by the news of the avalanche in Sikkim on Tuesday.
“Deeply worried by the reports of the significant avalanche that stranded several tourists in Sikkim’s Nathu La.
“My thoughts are with the victims and families of this horrible catastrophe. I’m sending my best wishes to the teams working on the rescue effort,” Gandhi wrote on Facebook.
