The airline said that a Qatar Airways was diverted to Karachi, Pakistan after it declared an emergency due to indication of smoke in the cargo hold. It was a Delhi to Doha passenger plane.
In Karachi the aircraft landed safely. There it was met by emergency services and passengers disembarked it in an orderly manner using stairs.
The incident is currently under the investigation. Then a relief flight is being arranged to transport the passengers onwards to Doha.
Qatar Airways said that, “On 21st March its flight (traveler plane) QR579 from Delhi to Doha redirected to Karachi after pronounced a crisis because of the sign of smoke distinguished in the freight hold.”
