Protests against fuel price rises in Siliguri

A protest was held by CPIM & Trinamool Congress separately in Siliguri on Monday against the rise in Oil Price. In the Darjeeling hills, petrol is now priced at Rs 101 and while in Siliguri Rs 99.61.

Trinamool Congress protested by cutting a cake where it was written that petrol had crossed 100. The image of PM Narendra Modi was also burnt as a token of the protest against the rise in fuel price. For the past few days, the Darjeeling district Left front has been continuing the protest against the price increase.

On Monday the DYFI staged protest demonstration in front of the Gandhi statue near court more. The Darjeeling District Youth Congress are even protesting in streets for the price hike.

They said that the prices of fuel need to be controlled immediately. Along with issue of petroleum prices, they also raised the issue of corruption in the Rafael deal. Even they mentioned that the central should have thought about the civilians. Along with the rise in price, Youth Congress President Rohit Tiwari also demanded an investigation in the Rafael deal. DYFI leaders demanded punishment of those involved in fake vaccine scam.
