A 25-year-old woman, working as an area committee member of the banned CPI (Maoist) party, surrendered to the police and CRPF in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday.

The woman joined the CPI party in 2015 and was promoted as Area Committee Member of the Manuguru area in the year 2020. She has been working for this group for the last 7 years and is performing the duties of ‘Dalam’

When she came to know about the development activities in his area, she decided to quit the party to lead a peaceful life, Bhadradri Kothagudem District Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutta said in a statement.

Declining support for the CPI party in Cherla and border areas, extortion from poor tribal people, recruiting innocent tribal youth and using them in illegal activities were among the other reasons for her surrender.
