PNB strengthens rural banking network with Malkanihat branch launch, credit outreach gains traction

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has expanded its rural banking footprint with the inauguration of its new premises at B/O-Malkanihat under Jalpaiguri district, reinforcing its focus on grassroots market penetration and financial inclusion. The branch was inaugurated by Circle Head Smt. Sarita Singh in the presence of Assistant Commandant, BSF Raninagar, Sri Naresh Ch. Roy; Pradhan of Khariza Berubari-2 Gram Panchayat, Sri Taranath Roy; Sri Pritam Ghosh, Chief Manager; along with other dignitaries and valued customers.

At the event, officials highlighted the legacy of Punjab National Bank and its continued role in supporting economic development. The bank underscored the importance of accessible banking services in driving growth in rural markets, particularly in districts like Jalpaiguri. In a key development, loan sanction letters were handed over to 10 customers, signalling steady credit offtake and demand at the local level. The bank also showcased its newly launched schemes, which received a positive response from customers, indicating encouraging market sentiment.

The programme, organised by Team NJP (Siliguri), reflects PNB’s strategy to deepen customer engagement and strengthen its position in emerging rural and semi-urban markets.
