PM Modi on Wednesday (August 24, 2022) dedicated the “Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre” to the country in Mohali, Punjab. The Hospital has been constructed at a value of over Rs 660 crore by Tata Memorial Centre, an aided institute beneath the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. It is a tertiary care health center with a 300-bed capability and is geared up with modern services to treat all types of cancers with the usage of each and every available therapy modality like Surgery, Radiotherapy and Medical Oncology – Chemotherapy, immunotherapy and Bone marrow transplant.
After inaugurating the “Homi Bhava Cancer Hospital and Research Centre” PM Modi said to the nation, “To make India a developed country, it is important to improve its fitness services,”.
He added, “When the people of India get modern hospitals and facilities for treatment, they will soon get it right, and their electricity will be directed in the right direction,”.
Reaching out to cancer patients and their families, he said, “We don’t need to fear cancer but we have to fight against it. I know many people who have beaten cancer.
