PepsiCo India and The Social Lab lead plog run in Kolkata, aligns with Swachh Bharat Mission

PepsiCo India, in collaboration with The Social Lab (TSL), led the 6th edition of the Plog Run at Poly Park, Dhulagarh, Howrah, West Bengal. The initiative embodies the spirit of its guiding principle, ‘Partnership of Progress,’ bringing together organizations and communities for collective action. Aligned with the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission, Plog Run brings together fitness and sustainability, with volunteers collecting plastic waste while jogging.

The event was graced by Smt. Amrita Burman Roy, SDO, Sadar, Howrah District and Shri Buddhadeb Banerjee, Deputy GM, District Industrial Centre, Howrah. Gaurav Kumar, Plant Head- Kolkata, PepsiCo India along with and Mukesh Patro, Regional Chief Technical Officer, Varun Beverage Ltd., Sonarpur, Kolkata flagged off the Plog Run, with over 200 participants, including employees, volunteers and local citizens, over 360 kilograms of waste was collected which will be segregated and recycled for further use.

The Plog Run exemplifies the power of community-driven initiatives that integrate physical well-being while addressing environmental concerns.”The Plog Run 2024 has been organized across multiple states, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana, with hundreds of volunteers joining the run for a good cause.
