Peerless Hospital & B K Roy Research Centre, a renowned multispecialty Hospital in Eastern India is in the process of launching the S K Roy Institute of Oncology Services (SRIOS). To address this, Peerless has set up SRIOS will have the departments of Surgical oncology, Radiation oncology, Medical oncology, Well-run day-care centre, Research department, Preventive oncology, Pain and palliative care, Multi-specialty back up, and Nuclear medicine (PET -CT scan)
Peerless Hospital management has decided to enhance its services as a premier multispecialty hospital in the city of Kolkata. The services currently provided by the hospital, for the cancer patients are fragmented and requires help from other institutions, particularly when any patient requires radiotherapy.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr.Sujit Karpurkayastha, Managing Director, Peerless Hospital said, “Establishing this cancer unit has been a dream of the late S K Roy, who himself had won battle against bowel cancer and it will be our mission to imbibe his indomitable spirit to the patients who will be seeking treatment here.” The Hospital now is in the process of hiring a highly experienced Project Director with deep expertise in running oncology facilities.
