Peace Channel organised a women leadership training programme on the topic “the role of women in peace building” at Tabernacle Baptist Church Naga United village on February 18.
Peace Channel field coordinator, Caroline Leisan shared the vision of Peace Channel and encouraged women to involve in promoting peace. Acknowledging the role of women in a society, she said that women possessed wisdom and knowledge in promoting peace in the community.
Meanwhile, resource person, general secretary, Nagamese Baptist Church Association (NBCA), Mhabeni Ngullie assured the participants that such trainings were encouraged even in the coming days and apprised Peace Channel on conducting such programmes. Further, a group discussion was also initiated among the women on promoting peace among themselves and within the community, effective communication in building good relationship, seminars and programs for peace building, etc.
The programme was facilitated by Peace Channel field coordinator, Caroline Leisan, along with Peace Channel staff and was conducted with an aim to promote peace and peace-building among women folk. Altogether 21 women representatives from different communities attended the programme.
