Kharibari, May 02: Panighatta tea garden, which was closed for 10 years, has officially reopened, causing a wave of happiness among the workers. The garden was closed in 2015 due to discontent between the workers and the owner, leaving many workers unemployed.
The decision to reopen the garden was taken after a tripartite meeting held at the Siliguri Labor Department on April 29. The garden owner said that it will take time to start operations at full capacity, but he expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the workers, the garden will soon regain its old rhythm.
The workers have expressed happiness over the reopening of the tea garden and mentioned the difficulties faced during the closure. They hope that the garden will continue its operations smoothly in the future as well.
