The P.C. Chandra Puraskaar, an annual national award from the P.C. Chandra Group, was conferred upon India’s most iconic sportsperson, MC Mary Kom, at the 30th edition of the Annual Award Ceremony. Mary Kom received the felicitation in the presence of Chief Guest, the legendary Billiards World Champion, GeetSethi, Shri A.K. Chandra, Managing Director, P.C. Chandra Group and Mr. Suvro Chandra, Joint Managing Director, P.C.Chandra Jewellers. The award carries an honorarium of Rs. 10 lakhs which is tax exempt.
Chungneijang Mary KomHmangte, popularly known as MC Mary Kom, is one of India’s leading sporting superstars. She has won six women’s world championship titles and a bronze medal from the London 2012 Olympic Games. Kom has been a path-breaker with a career full of firsts, inspiring many women across many sports in India.
