October 25 marks the reopening of National Highway-10 to all traffic

On October 25, at 6:00 am, National Highway-10 will reopen to all vehicles following major repairs; however, commercial traffic will be subject to stringent weight restrictions. Now, travel on the crucial highway that links the plains and hills of West Bengal is permitted under strict supervision. The Executive Engineer of National Highway Division No. IX, West Bengal, stated that heavy vehicles are subject to a weight restriction of 10 metric tons. The choice demonstrates a cautious approach to preserving the stability of the highway.

At six crucial locations across a distance of more than 40 kilometers, including the congested areas of Kalijhora and Mamkhola, authorities have enforced single-lane traffic. These steps are intended to avoid traffic jams and guarantee structural integrity in areas that are susceptible. Traffic control will be supervised by district officials, who will pay particular attention to imposing load limits on commercial vehicles.
