To an attempted showing of a “forbidden” BBC programme, DU suspends the NSUI leader and another student for a year.
According to a top official, Delhi University has suspended two students—including the leader of the Congress students’ wing—for a year for allegedly attending a screening of the BBC documentary about the Godhra riots on campus.
The directive dated March 10 states that students would not be permitted to sit for any departmental, college, or university exams during this time.
The official claimed that six further students who were reportedly involved in the event on January 27 had received “less stringent” punishment, but suggested that there may be other pupils involved as well.
