Mizoram recorded 55 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 22 more than the previous day, taking the tally to 2,27,849, a health department official said.
The death toll stands at 697 as no new deaths due to the infection have been reported in the last 10 days.
The daily positivity rate rose to 12 percent from the previous day’s 7.73 percent as new cases were detected from 455 samples tested, the official said.
The northeastern state now has 209 active cases.
According to State Immunization Officer Lalmuanaoma Jongte, more than 8.52 lakh people have been vaccinated with 6.92 lakh. and 42,192 received the precautionary dose.
