Amritpal Singh, a wanted radical preacher thought to be hiding in Nepal, was added to the nation’s surveillance list on Monday after India asked Nepal to prevent him from leaving the country using an Indian passport or any other fake passport and to arrest him if he does so.
After a request from the Indian Embassy in this country, Singh has been added to the Department of Immigration’s monitoring list, according to officials.
The (Indian) embassy sent a written note and a copy of Amritpal Singh’s passport to the department, alleging that Singh may have entered Nepal, according to Kamal Prasad Pandey, the department’s information officer.
