A ten-year-old minor was molested by three neighbors. After this incident came to light on Saturday, commotion started in the area. Police have already arrested the accused. However, all three accused are minors. On the other hand, the minor is undergoing treatment at North Bengal Medical College in critical condition.
The victim’s family alleged that three teenagers of the grandfather’s age had been sexually assaulting him by calling him from home for a few days in the name of play. They came to know about it after the boy gradually fell ill. They claimed that the three men often sexually assaulted the ten-year-old boy in the name of playing in a paved space next to the house. Sometimes the minor was harassed by being lured by food, and sometimes by fear. Parents took the sick boy to the hospital.
Besides, a written complaint was filed against three minors at New Jalpaiguri police station on charges of sexual harassment and molestation. But it does not end here. Further complaints of the boy’s family, after reporting the complaint to the police station, the family members of the three accused attacked them. The minor’s father said, “My son was sexually abused by three boys from the area. After we came to know about it, when we went to inform their families, instead my brother and father were beaten up. We also reported the matter to the local panchayat. But they did not pay attention to those words. We have given a written complaint to the police. The son’s condition is critical. I got him admitted to North Bengal Medical College.
According to police sources, the age of the accused is between 15 and 17 years. A case under the POCSO Act has been registered against three persons. Siliguri Police Commissionerate DCP (Zone-1) Deepak Sarkar said, “After receiving the complaint, we arrested three people. Everyone is a minor. The incident is under investigation.”
