Narayan Seva Sansthan’s free camp, 301 Divyangjans came from miles away, 168 were measured and 30 were selected for surgery

Narayan Seva Sansthan hosted a free selection camp for prosthetic limbs and calipers at Uttar Bang Marwari Bhavan, attracting 301 differently abled individuals on Sunday. The event, inaugurated by IAS Sherring Wai Bhutia, Commissioner of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, alongside IAS Avadh Singhal, highlighted the organization’s commitment to empowering the disabled.

During the camp, 168 measurements were taken, with 30 individuals selected for free surgeries. Vandana Agarwal, the institute’s director, detailed the various services provided, including free meals and vocational training for self-employment.

“This camp represents our dedication to improving lives,” stated Agarwal, noting attendees from Bihar, Nepal, and other regions. The initiative, supported by over 15 local organizations, aims to provide high-quality, lightweight prosthetic limbs, reinforcing the institute’s ongoing mission to integrate differently abled individuals into society.
