Nagpur College Professor Suspended After Students Alleged He Sought Sexual Favours

A professor at a private university in Maharashtra’s Nagpur has been suspended and a police case registered towards him for allegedly making sexual advances in the direction of female students.

The matter came to mild when college students lodged a complaint against the professor at the Pachpaoli police station in Nagpur, on the basis of which a case was once registered.

According to the police complaint, Professor Rakesh Gedam, head of the laptop science branch at Dada Ramchand Bakhru Sindhu Mahavidyalaya, allegedly demanded sexual favours from the female college students in his department in exchange for top marks, and threatened to fail them if they refused. He additionally touched some students inappropriately.
