Mortar shell recovered in fulbari, panic

Fulbari, Feb 17: The recovery of a mortar shell in fulbari has created panic in the area.

The explosive was found in a car parking lot near the India-Bangladesh border in Amaidighi area of ​​Fulbari on Monday.

According to reports, sand and gravel were brought in a dumper from Teesta to the parking lot in Fulbari. While sifting through the material, a mortar shell was found. The incident was immediately reported to the NJP police station.

It is suspected that several mortar shells had flown into the Teesta river after a natural calamity in the hills last year. This shell may have been brought along with the sand and stones brought from the river at Udalbari. Police have reached the spot and are trying to recover the mortar shell.
