As the 11th edition of the Sangai Festival begins in Manipur from the 21st to 30th November, the HaftaKanjeibung Ground in Imphal will also host a G20 India pavilion during the entirety of the festival.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh welcomed the idea of not only hosting G20 meetings in Manipur but also the G20 pavilion at the Sangai Festival and said that the G20 pavilion will provide an opportunity to all visitors to learn about the importance of India’s G20 Presidency and Manipur is proud to host G20.
According to sources in the know, on the 26th of November, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar along with the Minister of State for External Affairs Dr.RajkumarRanjan Singh are likely to visit the G20 pavilion as well as the take a tour of Sangai Festival at MoirangKhunou. At a curtain raiser event for the launch of Sangai Festival on the 15th of November, Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh had declared that “Boosting tourism in Manipur will be the biggest focus of the festival this time”.
