Kumaraswamy meets Mamata, requests to campaign in Karnataka polls

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee received a visit from JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy at her residence in Kolkata. He asked the TMC leader to run for office in the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections. The two leaders criticised Rahul Gandhi’s exclusion from the Lok Sabha in a disqualification case as a “political vendetta of the BJP” during their discussion of the nation’s current political climate, according to a JD(S) politician who was there. Having landed in the city earlier in the day, the former chief minister of Karnataka arrived at Banerjee’s residence at about 4.50 PM.
