Kenvue strengthens India hydration market with dual brand strategy: ORSL for medical use, eRZL for everyday hydration

Kenvue has announced a strategic expansion of its hydration portfolio in India with the rollout of a dual-brand approach ORSL and the newly introduced eRZL aimed at capturing opportunities in both medical and lifestyle hydration segments. The company’s “Double Power for Complete Hydration” strategy positions ORSL, based on the World Health Organization formula, as its primary oral rehydration salts brand for diarrheal dehydration, available in ready-to-drink and powder formats.

Effective January 2026, Kenvue has rebranded its electrolyte drink portfolio as eRZL, designed for everyday hydration and recovery from tiredness, heat exhaustion, and mild to moderate dehydration. The improved formulation delivers faster hydration with 1.4 times more electrolytes and eight times less sugar compared to the previous composition, combining sodium, potassium, chloride, vitamin C, and real fruit juice. Company officials said the initiative aims to meet rising consumer demand for science-backed, low-sugar hydration solutions amid growing health awareness.

Executives including Managing Director Manish Anandani highlighted the rapid growth of India’s electrolyte drinks category, while Business Unit Head Prashant Shinde noted increasing consumer preference for low-calorie hydration options. Medical experts from the company also emphasized the need to address everyday dehydration, which remains under-recognized.
