Minister of Soil and Water Conservation, Geology and Mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam has batted for promotion of eco-tourism in the state in order to generate employment avenues through tourism industry.
According to a press release by chairman of Hausum Khel, Poilwa, Namkwa Diswang, the minister made this appeal while inaugurating the Hausum Khel Resort, Poilwa on February 27 in the presence of advisor, Tourism, Art & Culture, Khehovi Yepthomi.
The monolith of the resort was dedicated by pastor Hindi Baptist Church, Dimapur, Rev. Peuhau N. Hau.
In line with the appeal made by the minister, the advisor also called upon the people of Poilwa and its neighbouring villagers to preserve the flora and fauna of the “beautiful land” which was God’s gift to the people of the area.
Commissioner and secretary, Soil and Water Conservation, Geology and Mining, K. Libanthung also spoke on the occasion.
