Jorpokhri – Darjeeling & Kurseiong Scene From One Spot

Jorpokhri is a little put on a peak and around 19 kms from Darjeeling town. Situated at an elevation of 7,400 ft, the fundamental component of Jorpokhi is its twin lakes after which the spot has been named. ‘Jor’ signifies two and ‘pokhri’ represents a lake or water tank.

You can regularly observe an enormous number of white swans swimming in the waters or walking around in the close-by region. Jorpokhri anyway isn’t just about the lakes. There is a dazzling woodland around brimming with dhupi and pines.

In the water tanks, you may have the option to see the uncommon Himalayan Salamanders that are little reptile-like creatures of land and water. Probably the best contribution of Jorpokhri is its general perspectives on the Himalayan snow tops and the Darjeeling scene. On a crisp morning and from one side of the lake you can get stunning perspectives on the great Kanchenjunga tops. On the opposite side, you can see Darjeeling and Kurseong town scenes.
