The JPP leaders expressed their willingness to support the BJP to ensure the overall development of the Deori community. The party won seven out of 22 seats in the Deori Autonomous Council elections in Upper Assam last week.
“The JPP contested on an anti-BJP and anti-Congress platform. After a meeting with me, the party leaders have expressed their willingness to support the BJP to ensure overall development of the Deori community,” Sarma said after a meeting with JPP leaders in Guwahati on Sunday.
“We have decided to join hands with BJP to form the next government in DAC. JPP Deori has decided to extend its unconditional support for the greater good of the people,” JPP President Mahesh Deori added.
The chief minister said that Deori will be the chief executive of the BJP. Other details of the partnership will be finalized at a later date.
