Internet service closed at five places in Delhi – surveillance is going on in the whole city

The ongoing peasant movement took the form of a battlefield in the capital centered on the tractor rally of the Republic Day yesterday. Peasants clashed with police in Redfort, throwing stones and tear gas.

Not only tractors but many of the protesters were also on horseback. Stones were hurled at the police. Delhi Police charged tear gas and batons. Peasant procession entered the red fort. The flag of Nishan Sahib (religious flag of the Sikh community) was hoisted at the top of the Red Fort.

One farmer was reportedly killed when the tractor overturned. 6 policemen were injured. There have also been allegations of property damage. The virtually peaceful protests eventually took the form of riots on the streets of the capital. Finally, that night, the police pushed the protesters out of the red fort. Besides, the farmers’ organization instructed to stop the tractor rally.
