India’s Chandrayaan-4 Mission Set for 2026 Launch

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has officially announced the Chandrayaan-4 mission, scheduled for launch in 2026. This ambitious lunar exploration will include a rover and a sample return module, making India one of the few nations aiming to bring moon samples back to Earth.

Following the success of Chandrayaan-3, which landed on the lunar south pole, ISRO aims to deepen research on the moon’s surface composition and potential for future human habitation. The new mission will also test technologies for deep-space travel.

Dr. S. Somanath, ISRO’s chairman, stated that international collaborations, including partnerships with NASA and Roscosmos, are being considered for the project. “Chandrayaan-4 is not just about exploration—it’s about preparing for the future of lunar missions,” he said.

If successful, this mission will further solidify India’s position in global space exploration.
