In Myanmar’s Myawaddy area 32 Indians trapped after falling prey to an international racket promising jobs in Thailand have been rescued.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “Some fraudulent IT companies seem to be involved in digital scamming and fake crypto activities. They seem to be operating through agents in Dubai, Bangkok and India and recruiting Indian workers on the pretext of jobs, The opportunities to work in Thailand in the IT sector.”
He also added that workers are lured by social media advertisements of highly lucrative data entry jobs in Thailand.
