India reported 215 new coronavirus infections, the lowest since April 2020, taking the total number of Covid cases to 4,46,72,068, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.
Active cases fell further to 4,982, while the death toll rose to 5,30,615 after one death was reported from Delhi, data updated at 8 am said.
According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.01 percent of total infections, while the national recovery rate stands at 98.8 percent.
A reduction of 141 cases was recorded in the active caseload in a span of 24 hours.
The number of recoveries from the disease increased to 4,41,36,471, while the death toll was recorded at 1.19 percent.
According to the ministry’s website, 219.91 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide immunization drive.
