On Tuesday The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) carried out the demolition of unauthorized construction in Ward No. 35 near Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road. The demolition was executed following a High Court order, targeting portions of a residential building that allegedly deviated from approved plans. Reportedly, the demolition operation commenced on Tuesday morning, with police present to ensure security and order. Several flats across three floors of the residence were demolished. This action is part of a broader initiative mandated by the High Court to address illegal constructions across various wards in the city.
On the previous day, Monday, a similar demolition took place in Ward No. 34, where unauthorized sections of another residence were actually dismantled. This is actually very bad thing as illegal construction is happening and making people life in danger. In fact people should take this very seriously and inform about it if they find anything suspicious related with it.
