India added 6,422 new coronavirus infections taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,45,16,479, while active cases rose to 46,389, according to Union Health Ministry data on Thursday.
The death toll reached 28,250 with 34 deaths, including 20 deaths matched by Kerala, data updated at 8 am said.
Active cases accounted for 2.04% of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate rose to 98.71%, the ministry said.
in a span of 24 hours increase of 640 active covid cases was recorded.
According to the report of the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 2.04% and the weekly positivity rate was 1.71%.
In the last 24 hours, e 14 new deaths recorded including two each from Punjab, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.
