Prime Minister Imran Khan has unfollowed everyone from his Twitter account, including his first wife Jemima Goldsmith.
Netizens were amused on Monday after noticing that Imran Khan was no longer following anyone from his official Twitter account, with some trolling him that he might be taking a leaf out of his predecessor, Nawaz Sharif’s playbook, who doesn’t follow anybody on Twitter.
Before this recent unfollowing episode, Imran Khan had last unfollowed journalist Hamid Mir, with rumours rife that the anchor’s criticism of his government might be the reason behind the move.
Imran Khan had created his Twitter profile in March 2010. Even after divorcing her and marrying twice after that, Imran Khan had continued to follow his first wife, Jemima Goldsmith. The Pakistan PM is currently being followed by 12.9 million followers on the micro-blogging site.
Bushra Bibi is Imran Khan’s third wife, who he married six months before assuming office as Pakistan Prime Minister.
However, this new development, whether a glitch or an intentional act, has given a chance to Twitterati to take a pot shot at Imran Khan. In fact, it seems people have not liked him unfollowing his first wife.
